Overview

The study of designing, maintaining and operating marine craft and shipboard machinery and systems. The main purpose of this narrow field of education is to develop an understanding of designing, developing, operating, maintaining and managing marine engineering systems. It also involves developing an understanding of the operation of ships and other maritime facilities and safety under operational conditions.

Course skills

Maritime Engineering and Technology develops skills in:

  • constructing, maintaining and repairing the internal structure, steering gear and hull support systems of marine craft
