Overview

The study of planning, designing, developing, testing, installing and maintaining electrical, electronic and communications equipment, circuits and systems. It includes designing, installing and maintaining equipment for generating and distributing electrical power. The main purpose of this narrow field of education is to develop an understanding and practical application of the design, installation, testing, maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and communications equipment and systems, electrical and electronic wiring, circuitry and componentry. It also involves developing an understanding of electrical safety and safety regulations.
